An early MoT prod around underneath revealed one little nastie[xx(]
Looks awkward to repair with the hanger in place, but removal is proving stubborn...
As you know mate i've been here myself. Mine was stubborn to free too. What i do remember doing though was jacking the van up to take the weight off the offending spring and that made things much easier
Then i used a rubber mallet to loosen the bracket out of the outrigger. Be carefull not to cross thread anything on removal though as i did
cos it's then another headache trying to groove a new one in and it took me ages. How do you plan to repair it? Are you going to weld a new plate on the bottom?
Much easier to repair with the spring off
"You,re only supposed to blow the bloody SLIDING doors off"
The hanger bracket drifted out quite easily with a jack at the other end of the spring taking the chassis weight, revealing the extent of the damage
This appears to have been repaired previously, now rotted away again[xx(]
Do yourself a favour Greg
Won,t be doing the Colonels hanger again for a couple of epoch,s
