I am not a person, I am a number, 395 actually......Be seeing you!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

1st gear is a "crawler" gear ie its designed for pulling away when fully laden, you would not have to use this gear during ordinary use and generally speaking you would drive this vehicle as a 4 speed. Bedford CF`s use the same system with the zf 5 speed gearbox and many people are disappointed to find that instead of 5th gear being a better cruising gear it is in fact the same ratio as the standard 4 speed gearbox :)
This was a cracking camper up until a few years ago but time and storage has not been kind to it :(

Bloody Commer`s!

dozer had one of these tucked away a few years back - not a camper though

I used to drive one of these. As Beachboy says, first gear is rarely used. Top speed in 5th was about 45 mph. It is not the position of the gears which needs getting used to, it is the position of the gear lever in relation to the driving seat. You need a double jointed left shoulder to reach back and find the gearlever when you want to get out of 3rd or 5th. The one on ebay looks to me as if it has been left in 2nd or 4th gear.

The one I drove did not have a drivers door in the cab, but behind the cab and behind the driver's seat. You had to get into the drivers seat by sliding between the seat and the engine cover. I did like the footwell windows though!
