Raising the suspension height

Hi All,

My V8 commer was lowered as much as possible. So much that I had to notch the chassis crossmember for the diff not to hit it.

My new commer I'd like to go the other way. Mainly due to the fact I live on a farm so need some pretty chunky off road tyres.

If I look under the van I can see with stock springs it's already pretty high. I could probably shave the bump stop to get perhaps an inch but can anybody think of any other ways/issues? The rear should be pretty easy with some blocks on top of the spring perch.

Also, does anyone know if 700r tires would fit on the stock rims? I went to my local tire shop (I live in a small country town in NZ) and they just stared blankly at me.

These are the ones I'm eyeing off but I really want to get the tallest possible.

This is the van as she sits. I put a primer sealer over it to protect it from the never ending rain we seem to get this summer.

On the spacevan front end there is an aluminium doughnut on top of the spring that is an inch or so thick. I'm thinking the Commer doesn't have them. Maybe fit a pair of them at each side?

I know bigmonkeyman fitted a lovely set of BFG AT tyres - looked the nut but not sure if it was raised at all
