Pistons, whats the difference?

Hi Guy:D
Not sure if the LC ones were cast with the dish, but you might be right but didn't the LC ones just have a shallower dish and the flat tops are Holbay?
Have you got a lead on some?

Me Jennings will hopefully be moved to pastures new to start on its renovation. It would always pink a bit under load so just wondering if the pistons could be modified or a more modern ignition and the best fuel would help. Have a replacement exhaust system to fit with a larger bore so I hope will reduce cylinder temperature.

Thanks, Guy.

Pinking is usually a sign of the ignition being too far advanced, it needs to be retarded slightly to cope with the lower octane rating of modern petrol. The other cause is a very weak mixture, either of those conditions would give you higher running temperatures.
