Hi Andrew, thats a lovely solid looking van[^]
The only way to do it properly is to take it back to bare metal. Use a flapper disc and wire brush in your drill, or even better in an angle grinder, and take the paint and rust back to shiny metal. Treat it with Aquasteel and then a thin skim of filler when its dry to bring it back up to the paint level then prime and top coat.

Ah this was that good looking one on ebay not long back
is this the van from ebay last year(around september time?-about £4,500?)
re-doing the interior then ? it looked o.k ,just needs a re-vamp. at least you have not got too much to do(fingers crossed) will be nice to see it after a bit of love has been put its way-have you a name for her/him?
