Photos of centre seat and fixings...

I am hopeing to fit a centre seat to our Highwayman. The original fitting a is a rare item and it seems unlikely That I will get one.

Would anyone who has a centre seat fitted be prepared to take some photos of it and the fittings on the engine cover so that I can start to fabricate one myself?

Any help would be great.

Cheers

I have been wondering about this, do vans with centre seats have better fixings on the engine cover? And where do the seatbelts attach to?

I have a spare engine cover if you want to experiment?

rats[xx(], was visiting friends today with highwayman who are changing engine and currently have their centre seat out and easily photographable - if only I'd caught your message before we got there[V][V][V]

will go for photo shoot next time we're down there but might not be for a little while.

You're welcome to pics of Bessies' (autosleeper deluxe) seating - cushions held by framework - can't remember what your other 2 seats look like so not sure if this any help [8)]

I think my Autosleeper has a non-standard (or standard for autosleeper) lid fitting. There is just a little clip in the middle, and the 2 "original" beefy screwdown fittings have been squashed flat.

Ruairid, I'm sure that if you manage to get some replacement seats, one of the bucket seats you have can be bolted into the engine cover? Willow can then pretend she's a racing driver!

Thanks Martin, Rupert and Studio,

One of the problems we have is that a child seat will not fit on the Bucket seats and much as I raised my eybrows at them when we bought the van they are actually very comfortable....the other problem with fitting one to the engine cover is that you wouldn't be able to open it. I am assuming that the original fittings folded flat or detached to enable you to open it??

Martin, thanks for confirming my thoughts that I could use the original mounting to add a centre belt.

Any photos you can get Studio I woudl be very interested to see.

Many thanks
