Thanks panky nothing wrong with my actual cap apart from the seal, fuel has started to creep out & stain the paint,so don't really want to buy a cap if I can get a seal for it,the one on ebay is used not n o s (I think)
if its a flat circular gasket give me the dimensions and i will see if i have a tool to press a few
its important to use nitrile rubber due to its excellent resistance to fuel
Hi Steve, thanks for this & Sorry for the delay in reply :I I was hoping the rubber seal could be found,it has mysteriously disapeared, the cap is wasa, hexagonal type. The inner dia 32mm & outer 50mm approx measurements
Hi commerchris, There's an NOS rootes 'Petrol Filler Cap' on eBay, not sure it's the correct one though. It does look similar to the original one I had on my camper [?]
If its like the dodge filler neck on the later commers the mark 1 avenger after market locking cap is the same and fits perfect as thats whats on mine [8D]
finally made a few from the nearest size tool i have,if anyone wants to try one you can have one free, email me at [email protected]
with your address
might work might not but they are free!!!!!
failing that go to your nearest motorhome dealer and buy a water filler cap (not dear)for all modern motorhomes as this is the seal i have on charlies fuel cap and fits like a glove and no sign yet of petrol damaging it either and i got it free
