Hi, i drove my commer (mjp1) home on sunday and went into overdrive coming down the dual carridgeway. I wasn`t sure if i should swith the overdrive off manually or i should come down the gears without switching the overdive off. Then swithching it off manually at a junction etc. Can any one help me.

Sounds like you have a non-self cancelling over drive, just like me I tend to knock it off before I come down the gears.

Best to treat it like a 5 speed box don,t use the o/d in 1st or 2nd

There should be an inhibitor switch to stop the OD being selected in 1st, 2nd or reverse, better check.

Overdrive?? ..... are you referring to the semi sequential six speed gearbox as they prefer to call them nowadays?
