Lovely, give him £10k but insist on new tyres all round as the originals will be well dodgy by now. Then sell the reg plate and get most, if not all, of your money back. Just need the £10k up front :(

I'm sure I saw this van for sale in Germany about a year ago, which would explain why it is left hand drive. If it is a recent import, does it mean that the reg no. will be non-transferable?

Yeah, looks distinctly like an ex-German fire force vehicle; the guys at Practical Performance Car have one in the same colour and with similar mileage. They didn't pay £10K though!
 
theres a lot of these about being used up to a few years ago by the german fire force spent most its life in a garage a lot of small towns had them i know a bloke who has a lovely one there easy to convert to r/h/d

As that's clearly a private plate it should be fine. If it had beeen given an age-related plate it is that
one that would not be transferable. So when you sell the private plate the DVLA will issue a non-transferable age-related plate.
