Well I've got it. Not very happy[V] more anoyed really[:(!]
The guy said it had 3 Escort vans full of spares, barely enough to fill Trotters reliant van! and as for the camper, he said there was only a couple of holes in the battery box- quite correct- just forgot to say about the ones in the bottoms of all the doors and the usual other places[:(!]
On the good side, it runs very sweet, has some MOT and some original paperwork from new and did have one owner from new.
So it looks like I was stitched up[V] Paid a hell of a lot for 2 new doors, step panel and half a dozen other new bits, that'll teach me to accept someone elses description, won't it[B)]
Anyway, I know you are all dying to see it, so here we go.

The description on ebay was misleading some people have no scruples [:(!]. Is it good enough to use now for those trips out you've been hankering for or is a resto job before its fit for the road.

Can be used now, just needs Tax. At least I have just got a bonus, I found a 10mm Snap-On socket in the bottom of a box[:0]

Hmmm...I did have reservations.

As I said, the seller purchased it from it's original (pensioner) owner only a week before. I viewed it on the day it was listed.

When I viewed, he tried the usual "I have no idea what it's worth" tricks (despite being VERY quick off the mark with some (high-ish) ballpark figures). He quoted a price on the spot for everything, but then stalled me with a "but someone else is coming to view and I don't want to let them down". It all sounded a bit fishy, to be honest...

Hmmm...all a bit dodgy! Sorry to hear you've been bitten!(

If I had known you were definitely going for it, I would have gone back for a much more critical view! [V]

Incidentally, he also told me that there were an additional "two Escort vans" full of parts...when I enquired if I could see them, he huffed and puffed and changed the subject, directing me to the spares in the back of the van.

Only "some" original paperwork? He told me there was a huge history file!

[:(!]

Incidentally, who did you deal with? When I viewed, there were very much TWO people involved...one bloke called Ray (under whose account it was listed) and another called Lawrence (the local newsagent) who's mobile number was in the listing. I met Lawrence.

Interior just fair, unusual bench front seat/bed arrangement.
These guys were just out to make as much as possible. old auctioneers trick, bouncing bids off the walls till someone bites[:(!]

On the day, he told me £1K for the van and £250 for the spares (which he would sell seperately if required). He obviously had no intention of honouring that price.

Grrrr! [:(!]

still look on the bright side mart. you have some more spares for the collection your building and lets be honest it looks better than the last peace of s--t you bought. i think it will clean up nicely.:p:D

wont be long now old boy i might as well wait until i come up for the meet and bring it up with me then, ive been in the garage all night spraying those new panels i showed you the other week, you know those brand new lower side panels that i had made they look really good , i will take a piture of them for you to see and maybe you could stick it on here for everyone else to see also.:p:D

Doesn't this look a *little* bit familiar?
