cheers m8, i will have a good read. i was thinking something along the lines of a 130 amp turbo gas mig. i was gutted to learn that my dad sold 1 a week before i got dolly. sold it for 40.00 and i missed out on it lol. im looking forward to learning though. its 1 of those things that i always wanted to try but never got around to it as my dad was always about to weld bits for me :) once dolly is done i am debating making a trike to tow behind her so welding will be important. cant decide between trike or small trailer (or maybe small trike ON small trailer haha)

Time to resurect this thread me thinks! [8D]

Since getting recovered back from the Borders I have been busy squirreling away a few parts. Unfortunately due to house, work & family commitments and the Lincolnshire weather, Muttley has sat folornly on the drive.

Head Gasket issues on my daily car have forced the issue and I have finally fitted the stainless tank and new pipe on him though.

This morning I am in the happy position of going out, dropping a couple of gallons of unleaded in, and hopefully firing him up! If all goes to plan he's going to be my commmuter to work and back this next week. Starting tomorrow when I have the terrible task of meeting & videoing Helen Skelton! :D Wonder if she's a Commer Van Fan...? ;)

Just make sure you've got tea and coffee on board for a mid-shoot break. That'll impress her:)

Nice lookin camper!!

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.
1. Stuff I`m keeping
2. Stuff I`m not getting rid of.
3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.
 
No wanting to count chickens (Until tomorrow about half ten at least), but he's just done a few runs totalling about 55 miles and all appears well. Biggest drama is the heater blower isn't working and pulling slightly on braking.
 
The brake imbalance is common when a van has been stood for a while, some judicious use of the anchors normally sorts it out eventually;)

That's what I've put it down to. If it doesn't free up during the week I'll give them a proper strip & clean. For now though it means I can get to work! :I

As an aside, I find the brakes... err.... exciting. I can't get rid of the feeling that if I really have to stomp on the middle peddle the whole thing's gonna roll over nose first... [:0]
