Drove up to Martins place today, thought i would take a look at the recently purchased 'minibus'.
After a quick tour of the rest of the commer 'fleet', we focused on the what to do with the minibus.
My first impressions were that maybe it could be jigged, realigned and there could of been a chance of that if we worked quick enough we could have it on Ebay later tonight with a 'buy now' price of 5K.
However we swung open the back doors to find something was missing!, the floor...as you can see the spring hanger has rudely forced its way up into and through what used to be the floor.
I believe the spare wheel fell off when martin leaned against the side of the minibus.
Several tons of 'plastic padding' might rectify the gap here, the seat is holding the side of the van up.
We considered the 'lowrider' look for our project, who needs a VW with lowered spindles when you can just kick the side of this van and it dropped to the floor without any hesitation...
One particular feature i liked about this bus was the optional grass carpet it came with!
When you got inside the van it was like walking on the moon, with every step you took the van sank lower towards the ground.
After a lot of consideration, we decided that maybe it wasnt entirely suitable for restoration, the rear doors came off first, they fell off!!...
Everytime you touched the van, something fell off!..
The fibreglass roof came off next, after drilling out dozens of rivets we lifted it off in one piece, then the sides of the van began to lean inwards...
Above you can see Martin wondering if it would be worth fitting a 'Webasto' sunroof...
The seats in the back are in really good condition, all they need is a wash and scrub up..
It wasnt long before Martin had taken his trusty Stihl saw to hand and
slaughtered the feared Commer monster to its doom...
Here you can see Martin, he's checking the tyre depths and pressures!!, seems the fronts were lacking slightly!, we think as well that the front steering geometry was out of alignment and might need attention.
Can you guess what it is yet?
Oh dear, look the front end has fallen over!![}

That isnt a cutting torch in Martins hand honest!...
Martins inviting us all up to his place soon....to rebuild the minibus!!, where shall we start???
48,000 miles on the clock guys!!...that engines gonna pull strong when we get her fired up!!...
