hi everybody,
Some advice is needed, I have a 1973 commer highwayman, the engine had seized, and I have replaced it with another engine. We dropped it in last week and it started almost straight away, BUT it seems to misfire when you press the accelerator once the refs build up it will sound ok. Today I changed the ignition timing by turning the distributor (the thumb screw for fine adjustments seems stuck) at one stage it seemed ok there was just a faint pop on pressing the accelrator. So I had a cup of coffee, went back out to take it for a test drive but on starting the engine the misfire seemed as bad as ever. i started to drive anyway but it seems that as soon as you put load on the engine it starts to misfire and there seems to be very little power.
What else could be the problem or do I just keep turning the distributor?
Thanks in advance
Roric
