I am still mulling over the idea of converting to LPG.

Does anyone here have practical experience of this in their van or other vehicle? Is it really worth doing?

Is LPG widely available? etc. etc.
 
I think Macker has this in Dora,I am interested in the hydrogenator kit :p

If it is for financial reasons alone that you are thinking of this you should do some maths as most owners won't do the miles to break-even for a good many years.

With 3000 miles at 20MPG and current fuel prices, you could save over £400 per year!
 
Been thinking about LPG conversion, of which I know virtually nothing! Couple of questions, is there an annual inspection or service cost? Could you run a cooker or fridge from lpg.
 
Im looking at running the dog (perkins diesel) on a diesel/veg oil mixture, am currently running my megane estate 1.5tdi on a 75% diesel / 25% veg oil mix and its loving it! veg oil at tesco is 92p a litre so saves me about £7 a tank. I think the perkins is agricultural enough to manage on a higher ratio mix

You will need the instalation to be certified, although you can fit it yourself. It's wise to have periodic checks.
Conversion is simple on Commers, as only a vapourisor ring on the carb is requied, no injector rails and drilling of the head.
We are working on one at the moment, with a conversion on, I'll have to ask him how it runs.
You can run the domestics from it, you just need a separate take off, saves carrying gas bottles.
