Lowering a pb, commer dodge?

Hello all, right im really hoping some nice person will help me an shead some light on this topic??
As title above says, iv looked at this a few times now an really not sure how people have done this in the past? i assume the front is straight forward by cutting down the springs or replacing em? But how is the back done?
Iv lowered other axle reared vechicles before by moving the axle on top of leaves with lowering blocks but iv noticed on these vans they have some kinda arm/damper thing coming off each end of the axle attached to the van which can't go any higher as they will hit the floor!!
Do people remove these? or do they cut holes in the floor to let them come through an box them in??
Sorry to sound stupid but i havent seen a rear like these before, any help an advice would be great!!! I know theres guys on here with slammed commers as iv seen the pics, parts used etc an how to do would be great!!
Many thanks an lok forward to putting my mind at rest an hopefully being able to get the job done!!!:)

should have got me one of these a long time ago!!!

Hello there :)

Moving the rear axle to sit on top of the leaf springs seems to be the way to do it - judging by other posts on here. But the details of such an operation, I'm afraid I really couldn't say. Help shouldn't be far away though, as I'm sure someone in the know should be along soon ;)

Good luck with your project.

ITS ALIVE AND ITS A MONSTER.

Unfortunately putting the springs under the axle makes far to low, the diff hits the floor[xx(] People have done this then put longer shackles on the rear of the leaf springs but this isn't recommended as it puts a lot of stress on the springs, shackles and mounts. Ideally a five link would be the way to go - or get some lower springs made (a single leaf similar to a transit set up would give a decent drop). Alternatively a careful selection of wheels and tyres can give the illusion of being lowered without the hassle of getting new springs made, check out Jon's and Pablo's vans[8D]. Oh and DONT just chop the front ones[V]

Thank you all so far for your advice an help!!! both those vans do look good with wheel/tyre choice!!! What wheels are the ones on pablos van??
also the wheels on jons are wellas right?? Whats the stud pattern on these vans?? Anyone know what wheels will fit commers or other vechicles that share the same pattern??
Have the wheels on jons van been custom made to fit or could you accually buy them in the correct pattern??
Iv looked into ordering some very low profile tyres to start the drop as been sudjested, quite amazed at how much pablo got on his!!??
Iv taken another look at the rear today all i can see is have to move an weld the backets onto the other side of the axle an cut a hole in the floor to clear housing....

should have got me one of these a long time ago!!!

Pablo's wheels are Rover P5b Rostyles, they go on with very little modification - open the stud hole, up slightly, the fronts need the centre opening up to clear the hub bearing housing and some thin spacers.
By putting the spring below the axle the drop is about seven inches, you'll be on the bump stops and will need to notch the chassis. This has been done but the person who bought the van later found it to be undrivable[xx(].
