Lost my Commer keys!

For some reason or another I have lost all my Commer keys and the main set of keys to my garage and sheds.

I have spares fo the Garage and sheds, but have nothing for the Commmer :( and the last thing I wanted to have to do was change all the locks etc.

Even google does not know where I lost them.

I hope they turn up! We have a bunch of 7 keys for ours as I think the locks have been changed/new door added, hope to sort it so I can finally open the driver door soon (from the outside)! The keys are, ignition, driver door, rear door, petrol cap, interior cupboard and I think two old padlock keys from previous owners:I.

I thought you might be able to get new barrels to put in the locks?

One way to make them turn up is to buy the new locks anyway:p.

Hi when we bought Gladys she came without keys, so I took the locks off, the back door lock had a number on it which started with FS so I took the lock and number round an auto jumble and found the ones I needed.:)

If you know the key number, FS, MRN etc and the numerical number you should even be able to find some on ebay. Most autojumbles we go to have sellers with the proper key stock boards.

kjh;)

Could someone enlighten me before I go out and remove locks off the van........

What barrels / handles do I need to remove to be able to get codes for keys?

Is it the same code for the doors and ignition? (I have never used anything but the ignition key and petrol cap key)

Also, what can I do about the petrol cap? it is currently locked and I have no keys for it!! Is it a case of drilling it out and replacing the whole cap?

From the factory, the door keys were all the same. The ignition key is different. The petrol cap key will be after-market. I have only rarely had a van with the same keys to all the doors [xx(]

Thanks Martin,

So there is a slim chance that all my locks will be coded the same?

How do I find the code for the ignition key?

And it looks like it will be a drill job on the petrol cap :(

I haven't seen any numbers on the ignition locks, but if you knock out the bolts holding the lock on, you can turn the wheel and start the engine by turning the back of the lock. Then if you find the key, I have new security bolts to put it back on.
Otherwise, send your lock up to me and I'll see if I have a key to fit :) You could do that with one of the door locks, as well.

Thanks again Martin!

Looks like Jon who I bought the van from has a spare set of keys, he thinks there is possibly the ignition, doors and fuel.

I hope so, then I will probably contact the guy mentioned above and get another set if I can.

Fingers crossed.
