Lodestar 2011

Not really a meet or a show, but when we finally MOT'd Pootle (which she went through with no advisories:D!!) we thought we take her to a little music festival near Cambridge called Lodestar which is normally on in the first weekend of Sept.

One of the reasons was to try out an awning we bought on Ebay - It's not a great picture, and i had intended to take a couple of better ones, but some friends turned up in a large motorhome and hemmed us in a bit so i couldn't get a decent angle to take photos. But the awning was good. Gave us lots more room and fitted the van more or less perfectly.

The festival was small, but some nice bands, good food on sale and some interesting stalls to look at.

Jasper wasn't overly impressed with the music....

But both he and I fell in love with a Bedford Debonair

And even the darksider parked opposite was quite nice....

We also met up with Paula and her partner (sorry i'm really bad with names!) of Commerandboat who were there in their van, who must be real party animals, as every time i went over to have a nose at their van, they weren't there, but a really nice couple and it was lovely to be somewhere there was another Commer.

It's on again next year, only cost £40 for a weekend camping and entry to the festival, and use of the cleanest portaloos i've ever seen. I'll put a post on nearer the time next year to see if anyone else wants to meet there, as us two Commers were well and truly outnumbered buy the VW's!

Didn't realise the VW Splitties were so flimsy they had to be tied down!

Spare a Commer Guv?
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

The line up wasn't bad John, although Jasper objected to being there on the Saturday night so we sat in the van and missed most of the bands that night. They normally do the £40 weekend tickets if you buy early, think it was £55 if you bought later on.

Thanks for the congratulations Christian et Peter! C'est un dommage que nous ne pouvons pas venir a Blackpool, mais je dois travailler! - Désolé si mon français est mauvais!

And Scott - We will give you a bell soon! Keep meaning to, but fitting kitchens, the pitter patter of little feet etc keep getting in the way. Top work on Pia by the way, you're a much braver man than me, but you look like you're making a good job of it. Talk to you soon mate.
