Had a request to use the bus on a wedding last weekend and i was very proud of how it looked and ran, with 11 passengers and a tin bath full of booze on board we clocked up just over 100miles on the day.

The only annoying thing is the passengers continually calling it a Kombi
. The photographer must have said "Back in the Kombi" half a dozen times while we toured the countryside stopping for photos. At one time i overheard someone say, "I dont understand why a Volkswagen has a Commer badge on the front". Of course i explained it was a Commer but i dont think he believed me. The best thing is that the Commer Van is an amazing vehicle that not many people have (unlike VW) or have ever even heard of and that makes us a lucky bunch.

Funnily enough, whilst minding my own business. putting a gallon of unleaded in the Commer at my local filling station the other day, a largish black Korean 4x4 type vehicle pulled up at an odd angle in the corner of my eye. Leaning out of his window the young driver calls out "I have my eye on this camper, do you think it is worth the money?" I struggled to view the screen he thrust into my face and was tapping away on and glancing across to the pump reading, trying to only put a gallon in, it suddenly dawned on me that he thought the Commer was a VW, as filling the screen was a full frontal white T something VW. "Dunno mate, that's a Volkswagen" I said. Looking up above the rear doors to the Commer badge he replied "Ohh, yours is a Comner..." and drove off.
