Just took our Commer autosleeper Daisy for some bodywork and they told me her rear leaf springs were badly corroded and dangerous! Does anyone know anything about leaf springs? Where to get these? He also mentioned new hangers and rubbers? Any advice would be great thanks. Hazel
 
Hi Hazel, it's unusual for the springs to get that bad but I guess it can happen they usually go weak and flatten out. A member on here had a set of springs made at Jones Springs in Wednesbury (sorry I don't have the contact details) but there maybe a company local to you who would do the same, Jones will have the pattern for them so it might be worth a trip. I would also get a second opinion as it might just be surface rust and road dirt making the springs and hangers look bad. Try Speedy Spares of Brighton for the spring eye bushes - you will need eight in total but they are cheap.

I’ll look into it. I must admit I was a bit surprised as we had her serviced not long ago and it wasn’t mentioned. I’ll do some investigating. Thanks again. Hazel
 
Don’t know where you are Hazel but I’ve recently used Midland Springs Colwick Notts, for a different project and they were great good prices and good turnaround
