Knock on the door

First time it has happened for me - knock at the door admiring and offering to buy my van.

I know others have tried this but has anyone ever been on the receiving end?

The first time I had the Mini out on the drive someone pulled up in a car and asked if I wanted to sell, hadn't even been to the MOT station. A few times at shows the question has been asked about the vans, you can guess the answer:)

It's never happened to me regarding my van, but I've had two people try and by my whippet off me while I've been walking her.

Not the van though it gets plenty of admirers - I had it a lot more with my old Celica 28 and funnily enough my current 12 year old BMW as it's a rare model.

Funnily enough on the opposite end of the scale of desirability I get asked (twice a year) if my 14 year old transit is for sale even though it's covered in rust. It's always shady looking characters and they probably fancy it as something cheap to transport stolen goods in.
 
anyone has or knows of a 70's Lotus Elite sat in a garage I will happily knock on a door - so ugly I love em :)

Yup, 2 knocks on the door and a note on the windscreen of my highwayman.
The answer was always, "Nope, it's my project (along with all uh others)"!

We were stuck in traffic on the M6 one day and a bloke in a pick up passed over a piece of paper saying if we ever wanted to sell Gladys ring this number. Needless to say we never did :D.

The first time Heidi took ED out she went down the road for petrol a bloke came over to her with a petrol receipt with his number asking to buy ED.
