Hey all,;)

Still here living in the realms of Commer insanity, I have completed the TS3 project i started in February and although i had to scrounge many parts from the dirt in scrap yards, i finally have a running 1957 TD199 TS3. This engine had sat under a rail carriage in a scrap yard since the 1970's. It was last employed in a Commer Tractor/prime mover for Western Australian railways.
The motor had been mostly parted out and many of the remaining parts including the supercharger were seized. A lot of WD40 and time has gone into it to bring it back to life, now to fit it into my bus:eek:

You've done a fantastic job - not only completing a beautiful build but to source all those rare parts is just amazing.

First of all cut the commer down the middle................;)

I must admit, I was pretty surprised when it started up and ran so well. Two of the pistons should really be in the bin but i had little choice with no new parts for the TD199,s being available anymore:(. Many of the parts including the pistons were found buried under leaves and scrap metal on the back of a rusted out Commer truck in a scrap yard.
