Invasion of rats

In my area we have an invasion of rats and tonight one of them was wandering around in my back garden so I got the air rifle all set up, quietly opened the back door and crept out but couldn't see Mr Rat straight away. It turned out that he had climbed the metal pole with the bird feeders on and was having a feast on the fat balls, (no comments) that I put there for the birds. I took a pot shot but don't know if I got him or not. Horrible things, I hate them.

Stop feeding the birds for the next month or so otherwise they will never leave!

Shoot the birds - they're rats with wings, or is that just pigeons?

In fact don't shoot the birds - shoot the rats without the wings...and pigeons

Hasta la supervista baby

I know that's what I should do John but I can sit for ages watching the birds feeding and picking up the hair, from my dogs after I've brushed them for nesting:),

No, no, no you can't shoot the birds, but I have moved my bird feeders around so that I can get a better shot at the rats when they climb them and start feeding from the fat balls.[^]

I went into the garage to get some tools to do a bit of work and there's rat droppings all over the place, but even worse, my Jack Russell has been showing a lot of interest around the Rover engine area, so I lifted the bonnet and sure enough there's a big rat running around the engine. I got some wasp spray and sprayed it everywhere hoping it's blinded it.[:0]

Get some bait down, and traps so you can see the buggers suffer[}:)]

See the buggers suffer, no rats have a purpose like everything else. You could do with the buzzard I saw yesterday carrying a rat in its talons.

Now love wildlife as much as anyone but I draw the line when vermin invade my space.

I've got poison down in both my garage and my shed and I've got the back bedroom window wide open so that I can take a shot at them without having to making a noise, until I pull the trigger of course, plus I have a camera set up looking into the garden so that I can watch the garden while playing on the computer. I just hope that I can get the one that's living in the engine compartment of the car.

I have a tiger in the shape of a Jack Russell but the problem is that some of the rats are bigger than him:(

Well I think I've temporarily got rid of the rats.[xx(] I put poison down in the garage, in the garden shed and in the compost heap and for 4 days the poison was taken, but after day 4 none of the poison was touched.[xx(] As the bloke across the road still has hens and 3 dogs that never get taken for walks and do what they have to, in the garden and it doesn't get picked up I have no doubt that we will get more. :(
