Interesting device for those with roof racks

Always been a right pain to get stuf on and off the roof rack, standing on bumpers, seats and latest a foldable ladder! Ordered one to see if the Commer door catches are strong enough not to flex too bad..

Cancelled...should’ve checked the catch shape first as isn’t a U on a Commer...doh!

Anyhow an idea I’m going to play with for the commer as could be useful

I guess the Dodge latch pins are different to the single post the Commer has.

Not sure if the latch pin would be strong enough, one of mine fell off when I slammed the door a bit hard They only seem to be an interference fit into a not very thick plate.

Or you could do as I've done and have your roof rack on the inside lol

My thoughts exactly panky. Cutting all that rotten roof out left it a tad wobbly. So I welded angle iron all round the gutter top and then welded it all together with the roof rack/brace.
