Whats the best thing to do with the plate that sticks up into the exhaust, and is meant to heat up the intake faster? I recall its stupid and you should get rid of it, but do you simply cut of the bit that hangs into the exhaust, using the outside as a gasket?
Also, I need to fill a couple of "divots" in the faces where the two manifolds meet, as exhaust gas has been blowing through there into the engine bay - is there a suitable high temp "instant steel" that anyone could recomened for the job, and a high temp gasket sealer to be doubly sure?
Chas, if its not too much hassle for you, sent it to me and i will sort it properly for you
most putty type stuff is not that heat resistant, really it needs a bit of weld/braze.
"You,re only supposed to blow the bloody SLIDING doors off"
Cheers Tim, trouble is, I am in Kuwait, parts are in UK, and we want to use Frodo asap - It's now been almost two years since we went away in him last, and we have a lot of things planned over the next couple of months. Longer term, I will get it sorted properly, but I am looking for a short term fix to get us through till October!
