How in the gods earth do I get this rusty mount off?

I’m pretty clueless when it comes to this kind of thing and it’s going to be a steep learning curve, I took the heater out today and was met with this rusty thing, any idea how to get this off?

Yes the small upper grille is held on with two nuts on the inside of the cab (bugger to get to) From what I remember the grille should then gently prise off to reveal a few countersunk screws that hold the heater box onto the front panel, not sure if there are any other fixing inside the cab but if there are they will require contortions to get to.

Thanks for the updates, I think tomorrow I’ll give it a whirl and see if I can somehow get to the grill screws to get them off but it’s looking like a right ball ache and tbh, I might just cut the thing off, I won’t be using it anyway as it’s completely rusted.

It's a common thing for them to rust out. Some have used Mini heaters as a replacement.

Yeah I think im just going to cut it out of good old Betty if I cant get to it today, once ive finished work this morning I will heading back over to do some work on it, I will also be fully rewiring it for my own personal needs and was wondering whether there was any universal looms I could use or is it more of a just fully wire it manually?

Also need to try get her starting as I drove her last week but since Ive had her back at mine even with a new battery I cant get her going, had to jump her to get her going to test drive her before so will see, she cranks and sometimes nearly goes unsure if its bad earth, knackered sparks or leads but will be checking all that today:rolleyes:, shes also got an HIF44 SU Carb so that was an added bonus i had no clue about :D

Update ! It’s out!

It’s now time to completely rebuild the rear box.

Apparently mine is a Commer PB Autohome
Coachbuilt.

So at least I know what it is now.

She’s running fairly sweet now, a little rich but still need to flush the rad properly and sort all of that so going to focus on changing the rear frame.

Debating whether to use Aluminium extrusion for the frame or wood atm.

If you need another heater flap. I've got a spare one that's in significantly better condition that I'm willing to sell. Just needs a small repair at the bottom and the hinge lubricating

Thanks for the offer will have to let you know a little further down the line. Im thinking of fitting a completely different heating system in it so probably won’t need it, fixing all the leaks in the roof over the coming days, only got about 4 small holes and a bit in the guttering so once that’s all done the new woodwork box framing will begin! Exciting summer for me
