Hi all just a quick post I hope someone can help me with, whilst tootling around today a shed load of steam came pouring out of the underneath of the bench seat in the rear ( actually thought it was smoke at first, major immediate panic). On investigation I discovered that my fridge is connected through a series of old degrading rubber tubes and copper piping to the cooling system of the engine. The steam coming from a broken rubber pipe which had obviously emptied the contents of the radiator all over the carpet, anyway a couple if jubilee clips and the use of someones garden tap i'm home. So basically any ideas why on earth this is there.

This type of fridge works by heating up a coil, instead of a compressor, to move the coolant round the fridge. Usually it is done by a very small gas flame, or electric coil. I have never heard of using the engine to heat it, but I don't see why it shouldn't work quite well
