Yeah i'm thinking last year sometime? Was this the one that was over priced on e-bay and took the guy several attempts at selling it?

I really can't remember - I just remember the curtains and the bolt on the door for some reason! The price it's up for on this auction looks pretty fair.

You are correct, you have seen it and not so very long ago!

Hiya

I'm a newbee to Commers, always admired from afar and now I'm thinking of jumping in. Is this little beaut a risk do you think? My budgets pretty small but I'd love to be on the road in a camper, freedom in front of me, and I'm thiking that this might be my opportunity! What do you reckon? S

hi
welcome to the board
beauty is in the eye of the beholder with commers, follow the links on this thread and that will give you a fair opinion, couldnt say what type of risk it is tho,
have a good read of all the threads especially the back of the garage thread under chat and also readers rides to give you an idea of what could be involved

Hiya sempriny - welcome to the Madhouse :D You realise there is no escape[}:)]
As Steve says it's whatever you fancy - no two are the same and they all have their own personality, the van as a habit of choosing it's owner:I Whatever you go for check it out 'in the metal' photos can be a good guide but they don't tell the whole story - whatever you choose go see it fist so as not to be disappointed.
Good luck:)

Thanks for the sound advice! I was sitting by my computer last night watching Thomas go for a fortune...I was very tempted to jump on in, but after reading the response here Im really glad I didn't. I'll keep a close eye on the new one I've seen although I'm not sure if my hearts racing for this one...maybe I should hold out.

Welcome Sempriny.
Have you seen the Dodge Commer for sale on the bay? Not long left to run on it now, might be worth a look;-)

The coachbuilts, like the Highwayman, tend to go cheaper - just because of the shear size of them and the fact they are generally slower. But if that doesn't put you off you could get a real bargain - we have seem some cracking examples at our Gatherings [8D]
There is another big feller on here for sale - goes by the name of 'Bernie the Shed' try the search function on the top of the page and see if you can find him - good luck.

Yeah, I did see this one, but wasn't convinced that it was a safe bet. It's really hard to tell from a piccy (Like Panky said) and in my opinion (which is based purely on looks) it seems a little wobbly. Am I wrong? Mad? Offensive?
