HELP!!! stuck clutch!!!

Hi Debs,
Has it been a while since you last drove Skye? what happens or doesn't happen when you try and get into gear?
Have done a search through forum and found this reply by Andy Zarse which hopefully might help - just make sure you have enough space to try it in case you shoot forward....good luck....
Don't talk to me about ruddy clutches...
First of all make sure the hydaulics are working. You'll need somebody looking underneath whilst you push the pedal. If the pushrod from the slave cylinder is moving the clutch operating lever back and forth then it's not that.
Stuck clutches are far more fun. Warm up the engine. Stop it. Put it in first and restart the engine so that your Commer starts to move. With your left foot, depress clutch pedal (it's vital the hydraulics are working, as above) and then with right foot stamp on the other two pedals alternately, going on and off the throttle and brakes. The shunting will either free it all up with a bang, or you run out of road. It's normally just a bit of corrosion on the flywheel sticking stuff together. This method does work, my Commer sits in a field all winter and it happens every year.
have sent text to Glyn to see if he has any dodges too so will post if anything else you can try

Have spoken to the guy who sold me Skye. He knows exactly what to do and is coming out tomorrow morning at 8.30 to do exactly what you said Studio. He said its just stuck and will be no problem to sort out. And... yes I have been a bit of a naughty girl and not driven her for a couple of weeks. I know I should have but daughter has been insisting on driving her car everywhere now that she has passed her test so I have not been getting the chance to drive her as much as I would like to. At the cost of petrol too I'm not too keen on wasted journeys, however I am going to have to bite the bullet and take her out just for the sake of it to keep her running Thanks for your help Studio. Hope to be at New forest on Saturday morning.

Glyn phoned and said Practical Classics recommend starting & warming engine up and hopefully warmth will help to free off clutch by putting clutch down and revving.
Might even free off by putting foot on clutch with warm engine switched off in gear then try starter motor.
Perhaps if you have plenty of friends to help push get some speed up then slip it into gear then jerk pedal to try and free off whilst kangarooing the petrol (bit like a bump start in reverse)
You'll need to get van where it isn't facing uphill if you can.

O.k. Glad you got someone to help - might be worth trying the warming the engine up and revving with pedal down option as least scary of the above choices, you might be lucky
