Head Gasket

I'm about to embark on replacing the head gasket on Frodo...

Any tips or useful info?

Well, that wasn't to hard - more fiddly then difficult! My tip tip is to have someone with thin arms and nimble fingers to undo the bolts on the tapper cover! All in pieces now, going to put back together tomorrow.

Don,t forget to connect the oil feed pipe, torque it down in stages, and mind your fingers ;)

Mind that oil feed pipe as you lower the head onto the block, easy to snag it and bugger it up.

1 tip:
If youre using a modern decent gasket you are best to run it up to temperature once fitted, leave to overnight cold and then retorque. IE none of this driving around under 300 revs for 200 miles milarquey and then retorquing like you had to do with the old ones.
