well today i have been re setting my computer,so seems i can see all the postings now

hi panky,hows the mini coming on?? has work started on harvey yet?
I'm working my way around the Mini with wet and dry trying to get rid of the stippled effect I managed to achieve when I resprayed it at Easter [xx(]. Started with the boot lid and it actually looks pretty good, nice deep shine. The rest of the back and one side is done, hope to finish off the rest this weekend and then have a marathon polishing session with me lekky buffer [8D][8D]. Unfortunately Harve has got even more junk piled up around him now, needed to clear a path around the Min but I recon work will commence in earnest in a couple of months or six
Looking at Admins pics when he took his engine out filled me with envy , he's got an actual engine hoist and two burly assistants. I has cause to take my engine out for a rebuild when I was younger, fitter (and two stone lighter) but did not have the luxury of such equipment. I decided that I'd had engines out before (Viva, Mini) and not had to bother with such items as lifting gear so every thing that could be removed , was. All that was left was the bottom end nestling invitingly in its mounts. A length of rope was tied around what remained and a harness of sorts (another bit of rope) strapped around my manly shoulders. Right take the strain (beads of sweat appearing on brow), bloody hell this is heavy [:0], it must be stuck. Another mighty effort and it was free , but I couldn't manage to lift it out [xx(]. I eventually dropped the lump onto a steel tray on the floor and jacked up the van to drag it out. The engine went back in the same way but this time without the crank and sump to make things lighter and everything was built up in-situ, went quite well actually. So much for macho posturing, my back's not been the same since [xx(] and the engine still overheats [V][V]
