ive just bought an uprated chrysler gearbox (for my avenger track car before you all get excited) and its got the following ratios in it.
1st - 2.67
2nd - 1.63
3rd - 1.28
4th - 1.1
this is a proper competitions spec box but what do the gear ratios mean in english in terms of mph?

The gearing also affects the engine rpm at top speed you dont want it reving its nuts off to early through the gears as the power drops off.
