Apologies for my little break from the forum, I've been away! Funnily enough this very subject came up when I was in the tropical colonies when talking with a salty old seadog over some grog. He reckons there's been terrible trouble with the linings of fuel tanks degrading and blocking fuel lines and filter in the marine industry, specifically with older power boats. The consensus is that the plastic/painted fuel tank linings are suscptible to ethanol alcohol added in the form of so called "green" biofuels. Sounds reasonable to me, but I do wonder whether the lead replacement additives aren't to blame too?
Anyway, I've got some thinners so I'll slosh it out. Does anyone know of a good proprietory tank liner?
