front door quarter glass

almost finished restoration of 1971 dormobile,will need quarter glass and frame that holds in place,glass good but frame swivel hinge rotten,also lower side door hinge needs replacement,got it ally welded but distorted can any one help...

Good luck finding window - a common problem with the frame there[V]

Where are you based? might be someone nearby that can have a nose at your hinge - failing that if you are able to post some pics of problem we might be able to talk you through

would love to find out more about your dormobile too - not many left so great to hear of another one[8D]

Hi Baldy (that sounds so wrong:I) welcome to the Madhouse. The quarter light frame can be repaired if you can't find replacement, but it is fiddly, make sure you are careful with the seals - they are unobtainable. Can't help with the hinge I'm afraid but good luck anyway.

thanks for replies,doncaster based,will have to keep looking,may be able to fabricate middle door hinge if successful will let u know may be of help to others. will post pictures of project,know what you mean about madhouse people have mixed feelings about commer being restored once they picked themselves of the floor with laughter ,they think its pretty cool,
 
Hi Baldy and welcome. You are lucky, you are only a few mile away from me at Commerland :p I may be able to russel up a side door hinge, I also have lots of other bits ;)
 
Are we now reaching the stage where this quarter light seal is getting enough takers to get a batch made?

I seem to remember the minimum being 50 pieces (unless I've got it all very mixed up).
