HI All!
Well Frodo is back from having his diff fixed! Unfortunately, Martins seals are so good that while he was away, the drivers side door didn't get shut properly, and lots of that nasty wet stuff got in. Everything is fine except when I was driving him home this evening, the indicators didn't work. On arrival I also found the hazards weren't working. A bit of detective work found that the flasher unit was half full with water!
I took it off and dried it out, and after a bit of fiddling, got it to sort of work! Except, instead of going tick tick tick, and the lights going on and off, it goes zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and no lights come on.
I think that the solenoid is vibrating rather than switching, and that it might be due to the capacitor not holding charge.
Has anyone else got any suggestions?
Failing that, what is there in the way of a suitable replacement?
