due to the massive number of requests, here is the official RC40 fitting guide 
This is what it should look like
Use the Commer downpipe and cut it at the end of the last bend, then weld on a 42mm o/d adaptor like this
That sorts the first box out. then some cutting and shortening to get the two boxes closer together like this
They can be welded together or clamped, but make sure you have the angle right before welding, best to tack and trial fit everthing as you go along.
Outlet pipe was cut off and rotated to suit then welded back on
Then add some hanger brackets wherever to suit. A couple of rubber cotton reel type mounts and job done
