First trip of the year and spotted a Commer!

We took Pootle out for her first trip of the year, down to Clippesby Hall Campsite on the broads. Lovely campsite, bit posher and expensive than we're used to but the pitch was in a lovely little glade.

A couple of nights in two families turned up in rented darkside vans but after having a look at our Commer they were converted:D

Had a great long weekend and on the Thursday went for a bike ride into Caister on sea, and spotted a Commer rusting away in someones front garden. Unfortunately no one was at home so couldn't make enquiries about whether or not they wanted the van anymore.

On the way back we stopped off a a service station and parked next to a big old modern motorhome and the owner came out, introduced himself and told me about how back in the seventies he was employed as a carpenter, doing the conversions on commer vans, somewhere in the Leeds area. Small world!
Now we can't wait for Commerfest!

I hadn't thought about the garages.
With any luck it's a porsche 356 in perfect condition, and the old boy who owns it wants to give it away free to a loving home.....well, i can dream can't i[?]
