Fan belt 1974 commer wanderer

Halfrauds mate. Mine recently went and i got one from there. I got the 965 and it works fine. Not quiet sure what the recommended one is without consulting the manual. Very easy to fit if you have an alternator ( Not sure of Dynamo )

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!

Got mine last week from Speedyspares www.speedyspares.co.uk

Moley and Brian the Snail :)

WE MADE IT TO COMMERFEST http://www.livecountdown.com/countdownclock/countdown.aspx?id=21370.

Don't get a new old stock one though, they tend to stretch through old age. New from Halfords is fine.

Peggy drinks too much!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

I second the don't buy NOS ones - I had 2 that were fitted to both my imps, and they expanded within a day of use. Not much use when they got to the size that I couldn't sufficently tighten the fanbelt to the correct tension anymore

All NOS rubber is rubbish unless its been stored in the dark. I always smile to myself when I see people selling NOS cylider seal kits etc at autojumbles

Cheers

If youre belt has stretched or snapped, slacken ur alternator/dynamo off....push it back towards the block (minimum adjustment obtained) put some string round the pulleys and tie a not, take string to local motor factors and....well cheaper than Halfords im sure:D

I wasn't trying to win sir;) other sizes are more expensive which i thought was pretty cool. The ones that fit Commer's i think are HB950/HB965/HB975, and they are all below £4. I wouldn't really want to try anything higher than this grade as it may be too slack? To start off with it may fit, but as it gets worn in it'l become loose very quickly! I went with the 965, pulled the Alternator back, tightened it up and you get half inch of movement either side which is shweeeet;)
