Engine installation advice needed

Morning all! Hope someone might be abl to give me some hints on getting my engine ( excellently rebuilt by Mr Maltas) back into Frodo. It's in place and perfectly aligned with the gearbox, but about 3/4" from where it need to be and doesn't want to go any further. Anyone got any suggestions?

Done it! The bugger!

After lots of juggling and tightening if bolts on each side, a shunt on the front slotted it into place. :)

Well yesterday went pretty well, but we're not out of the woods yet!
Engine in, starter motor connected, clutch slave cylinder connected - didn't seem to work properly, just read Razor7's clutch thread, realised I have made the same mistake and mounted it on the worng side!
Having a bit of trouble getting the fan pulley on the front of the engine. The tolerence is very tight around the hole in the timing chain cover, so I had to remove the cover, and then it fits fine, but when the cover is on and the bolts tightened I can't get it to align. More jiggery pokery today! I think I need to get the pulley on before I tighten the bolts, but then this makes some of the bolts almost impossible to get to - Great design!

Then its just the radiator, alternator, leads and wires to go!

But may actually have a running van by this evening!

Nothing :(

Went up for a couple of hours, changed the clutch position, but it needs bleeding ( I think ). A late night, many beers, and trying to work outside, under the van in a biting wind meant we decided that discretion was the better part of valour!

We both have busy weeks at work, so it will have to wait for next weekend...

On the bright side, I invented a rather nifty little tool, that I think some people will find useful - I will write it up later, as right now I'm cooking supper!
