This is a big long shot but does anybody know where i might be able to locate one of the big long fibreglass rooflights in servicable condition
 
Crikey that's a hard one - I know Moley's Highwayman has had it blocked off - and that went through a complete resto fairly recently, but hopefully someone will be able to help. By the way - welcome to the Madhouse :D

Well, hope this is not swearing in the church, but I've actually played with the thought of getting a plexi rooflight (white frosted or something) as a replacement for the original item. I find the opening/lowering mechanism a bit of a joke, really, and its properly broken on both my C-regs. The rooflights themselves I think are relatively ok on my campers, but the fibreglass is of course prone to cracking along the edges and they really pick up the dirt too, I find. Wondering if a properly sized plexiglass rooflight with properly bent sides and corners, a proper seal along the the edges to keep that dreaded water out, and better levers to open/close and keep it open would be a better prospect in the long run.

will ask friends with bluebird & spare bits if they have one - is possible but if they have one may well want to keep a spare for theirs in case of injuries.

Aloud thinking does make sense Jostein - if chance arises to sympathetically improve potentially destructive design flaw then worth considering

Did either of you have any luck??

Smurf has her roof light sealed up but I know where I can get a brand new replacement inc the opening mechanism...

I have no idea if they would be the same size as Smurfs?

What are the dimensions to the nearest milimeter?

Had mine measured and the seller had several for around the £50 mark (new old stock)

He used to work at Bluebirds

Think Chrisbob and Moley are more in need for this than I am. Mine not broken as such, but the mechanism is pretty gone. But I'm planning on a different arrangement on this whole rooflight/sunroof thingy next year anyway.. ;)
