coventry commer panels

hi folks its woolfy here, before anyone asks no this is not a joke, as you all know by now ive been making the repro panels for the commers for about three years and ive enjoyed it very much , ive got to know quite alot of people on here and else where and many of them have become quite close friends, ive enjoyed offering my services to everyone with regards helping getting their vans back on the road by supplying panels where needed, however whilst trying to offer different parts like carpet sets ,panels , new chromed parts ect, things have been very tough at this end of the pole with regards financing an opperation on this scale, this is largly due to the fact that everytime i try to get something re-produced to the highest of standards ,i have to keep dipping into my own pocket and outlaying large amounts of money just to show to others a finished article, because of this outlay of money on a frequent basses it has lead to the point where it has caused a few rifts between me and the mrs, as she sees it as a very expensive hobby with very little returns. so the question is what should one do. i feel that im nearing the end as to how far i can take this, so now im starting to think along the lines of selling off the buisness now that it is vertually established and seeing if someone else would be interested in taking hold of the rains to see it through to the finish line so to speak. obviously all the contacts would be up for grabs along with all the jigs ect, all we need is a taker on this oppertunaty. if their is anyone out there who might be seriously interested in this offer then please feel free to send me a message or email to discuss things further. if there are no takers then i may carry on for a while longer with the service to see where it carrys me but for how long i do not know. oh and yes i will be carrying on with the resto work and seeing the vans through till the end , so no need for owners to panic, this part of the buisness will be a seperate issue. its just the supplying of parts department thats up for grabs. thanks for listening and please let me know your thoughts on the topic, cheers from the woolfman.[V][?];)

[:0][:0][:0] Oh no [B)] what you need is a decent investor, i know how hard this is and how much time/money it eats up, trying to do it on your own, as well as the current climate and such a limited market.
its not easy. If i can help in any way Woolfy i will ;)

hi tim hi chris, thanks for your kind thoughts, like i said theres no need to panic,im not suddenly going to close down and stop production over night, this is only an idea at the moment. dont get me wrong this is a cracking little buisness and who ever owns it will always do trade through it, its just that i dont have an endless supply of money in my pocket to keep throwing at it all the time.its like any money ive made over the last few years has gone straight back into the pot along with more money from my own pocket as well sometimes. now i know that the buisness is building up around me but when your in the middle of the circle lokking out you cant always see through the woods to view what you actually have, it just seems to drain you instead. im going to have a chat with a friend of mine who showed an interest in becomeing a partner with me a few months ago to see what he has to offer. the only problem with this is that he wants at least half the shares and i will still be the one doing all the donkey work. i have to look at all the avenues, when selling this buisness, e.g how much running around ive done sourcing suppliers ect and also how much ive invested into it already, plus what i think it is worth to someone as an on going concern. so like i said ,i wont be leaving just yet, and still might not be.[V];):p

Oh very Bum!

I've not even taken delivery of my Commer yet. Hang on for a year or two at least Woolfy!

I'M GETTING A HIGHWAYMAN !!!

Being as I use Sybhil quite a lot,I get a lot of people stop & talk,..they almost always have owned one or ex bt drivers etc
the conversations usually start with surprised to see one 'cos they rot so badly we gave ours up because we couldn't get spares & panels, so I always mention the BIG BAD WOOLFY WOOLF of coventry commer panels The tech guru parts specialist the Website & Forum & some of the restorations & the members being a great bunch of nutters & how we meet up occasionally,...Please keep up the good work to keep the vans alive & if any one wants to invest in the future good luck with the venture I for one am sure it would be sound,....maybe we should all invest a little for a small %

That's sad news Mate. Just try and hang in there and don't cough up no more until you start to see a small return. Just use GOOD pics to show customers your services. Your the only one doing it fella and i'm sure you will see an increase in sales in the coming new year. Look at the rise of Commer vehicles in the last year alone;-)

Hang in there Woolfy and ditto Comm-Don's comments. I'm sure I speak for others as I speak for myself, but I will be buying more panels off you in the future. A lot of us probably run 'rolling restos' so will buy panels in drips and drabs when time and money dictate.

Commer 'Hi Tor' by TorCars

hi paul mate, im glad you posted that up here mate because i still havent had the joy of looking at the pics you sent me via email as of yet. i will view these a couple of times and get back to you asap with regaurds the work you need doing. like i said earlier im not under extreme pressure to sell up or move on ,its just a bit awkward trying to build something up from nothing at times, and to be honest as much as i dont mind being a bit skint from time to time its the other half who complains about it. and if i did sell up it would only be the panel supplying department of the company ,and (not) the resto side of things as ive bought lots of equipment and stuff and enjoy doing it to much now to give it up.;):p

That's mad - you would have to buy your own panels to restore the vans:I
