Anyone ever fitted one of these:

Lee has just got one for The Dog, unfortunately it's a slightly different PCD on the diesel engine water pump so he's having to re-drill it. The jury seems to be out as there may be a case of over cooling, increasing the engine warm-up time and so accelerating engine wear. That said the thermostat should take care of the warm-up time I would have thought and it would be an improvement at idle. I think it's worth the few quid to find out, I was planning on getting one for Bonnie - once she's ready for the road:)

you cant drill it out, the holes are brass bushes moulded into the plastic blade, you put a drill through and the bush spins and melts the plastic it sits in. Basically I knackered mine

I went for a 12" kenlowe fan in the end - its brilliant - cable tie like device clamps it to the rad and the temp sensor pushes inbetween the rad fins near the hot water inlet - you can then fine tune the cut in temperature on the control box - which I have mounted under the small access plate underneath the passenger seat.

Left the dog on idle for over 2 hrs without overheating - mine cuts in just as the needle hits the red line, I might trim it down slightly in the future - it runs for about 45 seconds before it has cooled the engine sufficiently for it to cut back out
