commer wanderer table catches

Does any one know what the original fixings were for the table set up in the back of a wanderer camper. The actual table has two chrome hooks/tongues which i assume hooked on to something on the back of the front seats( bench in this case ) Never had them and wondered what they were and are any around. Thanks

Our 1967 Wanderer had a wooden bulkhead behind the front bench seat which had the other half of the fixing you describe, but I know the later wanderers did not have a bulkhead. As you suggest, there may be some fitting to the rear of the seat. I know Gladys has the later arrangement, so perhaps Heidi or Bernie will be able to enlighten you.

In a previous thread someone asked for photos of my van out of interest - heres a few. Center leg support for table set up - very unsatisfactory!!

That is a lovely looking van with the earlier oak veneer interior. The cupboard in front of the wardrobe was the position for the optional fridge. Later vans had the fridge mounted further back in an elevated position. Does it have the very neat little full height larder cupboard at the very rear of the van on the right hand side? This was a feature missing from later vans, along with the cupboards in the rear doors. Earlier vans also had a full length window on the nearside, with the rear portion having obscure glass behind the wardrobe. Later vans had a shorter window on this side.
The table would originally have had a folding thick wire leg which was significantly wider and probably more stable than the current leg. This folded up and clipped neatly to the underside of the table when it was lowered or packed away.

Thanks- no theres no full length larder cupboard on right hand side as you look in from the rear doors just 2 angled shelves between the door opening and the start of the sink/hob unit on the right hand side.and yes has full lenth window on both sides with frosted section at rear of left hand side length. There are some sort of catches missing that must have been attached to rear of seat that two chrome hooks at end of table linked into which I think would make table more stable.
