went and saw this one last night, absolutely shocking repower[}:)]must of had the driveshaft off the datsun as motor has been moved aprox 400mm backward. had to extend engine bay cover, think it was done due to height issues[?]really tidy body tho, not a lot of rust.bidding on shell only, no cert for motor:(:( will see how the auction goes;)
 
Hi I've seen a few campers in oz that have the mesh shields on the screen( Vw Inc ) is this because of the tropical hail storms and having flying bugs the size of a light aircraft or just a look that is/ was popular

according to thomo it's the outback roads kicking up big stones from roadtrucks etc... and then trying to replace your windscreen! Expensive over there!
 
Thanx the dirt roads was also a thought of mine but only after I'd posted :0)

Not a lot of the mesh shields sold over here nowadays, yet if an original non-laminated windscreen got broken, would not be a pleasant experience (although breaking/losing a windscreen on a long distance trip would be an alternative way to getting full force air conditioning fitted) :D
 
I had a screen go on me down the motor way lucky me and the wife both had just put our sun glasses on...Then as I cleared the remaining glass away to carry on it started raining so had a very wet and windy 10 mile drive .... Oh the joys lol
