Commer Roof (Not Hi-top or Pop-top!)

I am looking for a commer roof section, not a high top or pop top, a standard original steel roof. Like you would have had on a panel van or a mini-bus.

Do you know of a suitable donor vehicle, have you seen one buried in the woods that may be suitable or have you got one tucked away in your secret parts stash under the bed!?!?

Any leads would be gratefully received!

Thanks

i know the where abouts of two vans but it wouldnt be an easy mission, and im not completly sure of the condition, but they are tin roofs. ones an old slider like tims but worse, same colour as well tim beleive it or not, and the others a mini bus, but both hard to get to as penned in.:p;)

Woolfy I like your style! We'll have a chat on friday and see what we can suss out. ;)

A Rag top wouldn't really cut the mustard sorry. A tin top Commer roof has so many nice pressings and shapes going on...

i can take you to see them if you like as in my area. but like i said not sure of condition as its been a while since last there.;)

there is a tin top here but I don't approve [:0]

Perfect, we'll take a look on Friday while I'm over if that's cool.

I have a good peak back to the b-pillar and the sides and back have good 3 inch stumps so I can get away with one in pretty poor condition.

Thanks for the tip Chris.

I know you don't approve but it won't fit in my workshop!

If you would like the old hi-top as a boat, bath or garden feature you are welcome to have it...

i will take a few pics tim when i go over there on friday mate, its a lot worse beleive me. thats why i havent mentioned it befor as theres hardly any thing left.:p;)

we always love seeing them, no matter how much is left.

Might be fairly tricky sourcing a roof from van beyond saving - middle probably o.k. but nibbled away at the edges where the gutters have stayed wet - sounds like your roof got a fair bit of leeway left though.

Are you planning to still use Bluebelle as a camper if you change the roof? Only mention it as have found that you really miss being able to stand up if out camping for more than a couple of days (and I'm fairly short) after a week of wet weather you can do a fair impression of the hunchback of Notre Dame[xx(]

Best of luck with plans - it's gonna look great however it turns out:)
