commer jules,cherry bomb exhaust

Hi Jules im one step away from buying a rc40 twinpipe.Went back and looked at your cherry bomb. Can i ask is it easier to fit?
How much would it cost with the silencer, and end piece, and fitting bits? I wont be fitting it myself thats why i wondered if there is less work attached than the rc40.
Its going to be dearer to buy the cherry bomb i think, but could i save on the fitting time?
Regards grizz.[commer ambulance]

something else to consider, cherry bombs are not brilliant at silencing, rc40 twin box is :)
fitting wise they are both pretty simple ;)

Thanks chaps ,Can i get reducers from the place im getting the exhaust from, any idea what size ,how many i will need.
regards grizz.

Probably best if you took the two halves with you to the exhaust place for a perfect match.

I found reducer in my shed (not much use I know!) which fitted inside the end of the RC40 and outside the downpipe ,so it was pretty straight forward. I don't think there are too many different sizes.

you should only need one, i think 1 3/4 o/d, any decent engineering place/steel stockists should have a piece. if you get stuck i will send you a bit :)

Hi
reducers here

I went for cherrys for this reason
There is a particular design explanation why Cherry Bombs have been so popular for so long: Almost any half-decent exhaust will improve horsepower over mass produced, often crude, factory systems, Cherrys go one step further by also producing a unique sound by deadening the higher tinnier exhaust notes but allowing the deeper bass tones to come through - making every motor sound throatier and deeper than with another silencer.
To quote cherry bomb's own propaganda ;)

They seem to work, I like the deep sound and the look. And I was able to retain the water tank.

Any exhaust is going to be betterr than the standard, and anything is easy to fit because of such easy access.

Best of luck

as promised I've made some measurements...

as far as I can tell, the reducer I have goes from 1 3/4" Od to 1 1/2" od. I couldn't really measure it properly as its been on for a whlie and its a bit manky!

the reducer fits inside the end of the mini exhaust and outside
the commer downpipe, so if you have the bits infront of your you could measure your parts.

hope this helps
