Commer fibre glass roof repair

Hello all. ive recently purchased a van with a lift up roof which looks as if its been jumped on.It seams to be set in a sunken position.Ive tried to push it back up but it creeked like Scrooges wallet so thought perhaps i shouldnt bother it!
Can you repair them?If so how?I was thinking of maybe heating it with hot water and trying to push it into shape.
Has anyone got a spare one?Your thoughts plesssssh
 
Hi Tongland, welcome to the forum:) - whereabouts are you based? if you can get pics of your van (which we'd love to see anyway:p:p:p;)[:X]) maybe we can tell if you can repair what's there - maybe hinges can be adjusted to get it sitting better? Does it open at all or just stuck in the down position? - there is the set of bolts at the back operated by lever that can seize slightly and not release if not used for a while - I know my old one got stuck and was a bit tricky to get at them to free them off.

I have a spare autosleeper roof going free but sounds as though it's not in as good a shape as yours - am keeping it as emergency if anyone needs it as they have a nasty habit of getting taken off in strong winds[B)] It has sagged slightly in the middle as the centre bracing timber that goes up the middle had some fire damage. It's here in Cardigan, West Wales.
