As some of you maybe aware my new commer looks fantastic on the outside but needs some very tender TLC on the inside. The following
The dash is missing
There is no carpet
There are no door cards
There is no lower part to the dash so the loom is hanging out
The rear seats / bed needs upholstering
The front passenger seat has a hole in and both could do with being reupholstered
There is no roof lining
The cupboards look a dated (don't mean to be offensive to the elders on here)
So I've been looking at people who have fitted out VW campers in a modern style. But to get some more inspiration could any members who have pictures of a re-fitted comer interior please post some pictures? I won't copy you (unless its amazing)
Also does anyone have any pictures of the original dash, lower dash and door cards? I just want to get an idea of what they looked like?

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.
1. Stuff I`m keeping
2. Stuff I`m not getting rid of.
3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.
I've seen that one before, I could make door cards like that myself rather easily. I just wondered what the original dash and door cards looked like in the PB in the early 70s?
This is a good picture of Martins TV detector van during resto. It shows the panels the parcel shelf is attached to in the middle and one of the end brackets as well.
The 'Tector is a dodge so the supports for the upper dash are a bit different but the shelf and brackets are the same.
Yeah I'm liking that modern unit on ebay thats something special. I'm not sure the Mrs would support me spending a whole K on a kitchen unit... I was thinking of taking out the 70s cupboards and just getting them sprayed in a shop in gloss white? So retaining the character of the van but getting rid of the 70's laminate effect?
Although I'm all for mechanical mods I'm afraid I've got this thing about original interiors:I For what it's worth I think original should be just that, If it's knackered or missing all well and good then fit one to you own taste and requirements but once an original is gone - it's gone for good[V] Maybe take a pattern off what's there - make a new one up in a similar style and keep the original in storage just in case you fancy going back to it

As Panky says It may be worth replicating the original interior.
I can put you onto the guy that did all my interior. he may be able to remake them.
