I have just restored an Auto Sleeper I have fitted disc brakes to the front and a toyota 5 speed 1725 iron head , it is all new in the back to the original layout . If I could figure out how to add photo's I would. The gearbox came out of a 1995 lite ace which has cable's for the grearchange , which were the correct length.All very easy , an addaptor plate was laser cut out off 1 inch plate, and I cut the toyato front sharft and put the Rootes one on to keep the clutch and spigot bearing simple.The discbrakes were off a 2005 ford with new hubs which widend the track by 2 inches and it has 15 by 6 mini lite look a likes .The colour is blue with a white top It drives well at 60 mph altough it gets scared at hills

Nice one thomo.. My cousin has just fitted a vauxhall caviler
engine to his 72 PB. Its a 2.0 l Injection / aprox 120bhp, so I think
he will have to do somthing with the brakes on his !
The prop goes on at the weekend, so we will see how it goes.. How it stops is a different matter..
He might have to ask your advice on the brakes ..
If you want to add pics look in readers rides under- Tv detector van. I found it hard to do , but got there in the end.. I think in photobucket, you have to highlight the image file name ? not click on the image itself . Hope this might help mate, It would be good to see some pics..
