cold battery

Hi, i am having problems starting my commer. It happens after a few days when i havn`t started it . I will have to use my jump leeds tomorrow to get it started. Any advice?

Is it the battery going flat? Could be a knackered battery or some thing is draining it. Try disconnecting it and then see if it's drained after a few days - if it has it's knackered. Other possibility is that it's not charging, is the ignition light coming on?

The oil and ignition light come on and then go off when i try and start it.

It seems to be charging OK then, does the battery die off quickly or is it just the engine wont fire up.

The first thing I would check is that the earth strap has a decent connection, maybe unbolt it and clean it up. Like Panky said disconnect the battery for a couple of days and see if it still goes flat, if not then with all ancilleries switched off put a tester on them one by one to see if they are srawing a current. I had a similar problem and it turned out that the light bulb in the cigar lighter was staying on all the time and that was enough to drain the battery over a few days

I'd also check the terminals are clean and tight on the starter motor

As said previously, check all connections and signs of something draining it - other wise new battery I'm afraid:I
