In my youth I worked as a petrol pump attendant (back in the days when you didn't fill your own car) and I used to have a regular customer once every week used to come and order "quids worth" he drove a Dormobile with sliding doors, and I recon petrol was about 37p a gallon:I

I think petrol was £1 a gallon when I started driving so I could fill the minor for about £5!
